Starbucks Japan's newest menu item A Frappuccino with a rich tea flavor and fluffy mochi texture
Relax with a fluffy green tea mousse during the year-end and New Year's holidays Starbucks will release its first winter season menu on December 26, 2022 (Monday).
Matcha green tea and brown rice tea are combined with milk and the texture of mochi (sticky rice cakes) to create a Frappuccino® that blends sweetness, bitterness, and savory aroma.
Three types of matcha and genmaicha teas are blended together, with just a hint of black bean, kelp, and plum flavors added as a secret ingredient to provide a multifaceted taste of tea flavor. Accented with the texture of crushed baked dumplings and a subtle savory flavor, you will never get tired of drinking it.
Starbucks' winter season, which begins on Monday, December 26, 2022, will feature matcha, genmaicha, and hojicha as the star beverages. The Matcha Genmaicha Mochi Frappuccino and Matcha Genmaicha Mousse Tea Latte feature a blend of matcha and genmaicha teas layered with fluffy matcha mousse. The three tea beverages will provide a relaxing and soothing moment during the busy year-end and New Year holidays with beverages made with tea, which is a familiar drink in Japan.
All three types will be on sale until January 17, 2023 (Tuesday), but will end as soon as all ingredients are gone at each store, so be sure to get in early if you are interested!
Overall, it is not too sweet, but has a good balance of savory, bitter, and mild milk flavor.

Like the Frappuccino, the Matcha Genmaicha Mousse Tea Latte features the original Matcha Genmaicha, a blend of three types of matcha and genmaicha. It is topped with fluffy matcha mousse, whipped cream, and white chocolate powder. This latte does not contain baked dough, so you can enjoy the rich flavors of the latte, including the bitterness of the matcha, the aroma of the brown rice, and the gentle sweetness of the warmed milk.
