Ghibli Park, Studio Ghibli's theme park that is attracting a great deal of attention from around the world, will open on November 1, 2022 (Tuesday).
Five areas representing the world of Studio Ghibli's masterpieces will be created in the park, allowing visitors to experience the world of the films as if they were the main characters in the films.
The "Hill of Youth," "Ghibli's Grand Warehouse," and "Dondoko Forest" are scheduled for completion in November 2022, and "Mononoke no Sato" and "Witches' Valley" in fiscal 2023.
The park will have five areas in the first phase of the plan. The first phase of the park will include the "Hill of Youth," "Ghibli's Grand Warehouse," and "Dondoko Mori" (opening November 1), followed by the opening of "Mononoke no Sato" in the fall of 2023 and "Witches' Valley" in March of 2024. This does not mean that the park is complete; it is only the first phase. The park will continue to expand as "a theme park that will never be completed.

The concept of Ghibli Park is to recreate the world of Studio Ghibli and to enjoy various discoveries while walking through nature on your own feet. It takes 25 minutes on foot from the park entrance to the "Dondoko Mori" at the far end of the park.

The first phase of the park opened with three areas: "The Great Warehouse of Ghibli," "The Hill of Youth," and "Dondoko Forest.

Ghibli Park is a theme park built on the site of Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan. The land and existing facilities that were not used at that time were redeveloped.
The Expo 2005 Aichi Japan memorial park itself is approximately 194 hectares in size (of which Ghibli Park is 7.1 hectares), which is about twice the size of Tokyo Disneyland and Sea combined, or about 42 times the size of Tokyo Dome. The park is designed and operated under the concept of creating the world of Ghibli in consultation with the forest in a land rich in nature.
Hill of Youth
This is the main gate that welcomes visitors and leads them into the "World of Ghibli. The most distinctive feature of this area is its scenery, which gives the impression of a residential area at the beginning of the Heisei era.

The area formerly used as an indoor swimming pool has been renovated into an indoor facility called "Ghibli's Grand Warehouse. It is designed as a space with a blend of Japanese and Western styles, with a sense of "warehouse" and nostalgia, and consists of an exhibition room with various items from Ghibli's works, a playground, a shop/tea store, and storage facilities.

Dondoko Forest is a natural area surrounded by greenery in Ghibli Park, inspired by the rural landscape of the Showa period centering on "Satsuki and May's House" from the movie "My Neighbor Totoro. The wooden playground "Dondoko-do" will be located on the hill behind "Satsuki and May's House," and walking paths will be set up on the surrounding mountains to allow visitors to experience the four seasons.

(Note) Time is specified only for entry, and there is no limit for exit time until closing time. Please enter the Ghibli Grand Warehouse within 1 hour, and the Hill of Youth and Satsuki and Mei's House within 30 minutes after the designated entrance time. There is no time limit for entry to the Dondoko Forest "Walking Path" on the same day. No re-entry after exiting each area is allowed. Entry to the exhibition is not possible with an admission time slot different from that of the ticket. Please note that admission times are subject to change without notice.

One application per person per area is required, and a maximum of 6 tickets can be selected per application. Children under 3 years old are not included in the number of applicants.
To prevent resale, the identity of the applicant (representative) will be checked at the entrance at random. Please bring your ID (driver's license, insurance card, passport, my number card, or student ID).
The maximum number of visitors per day is around 5,000, and tickets can be obtained in two ways: "first-come, first-served" or "by lottery. Details for both can be found on the ticket sales website by the deadline for that month.
Each person can apply for one ticket per area, and the maximum number of tickets that can be selected per application is 6 (children under 3 years old are not included in the number of applicants).
In addition, tickets that include accommodations in Aichi Prefecture are available at JTB, Meitetsu Kanko Service, Kinki Nippon Tourist, Nippon Travel Agency, Tobu Top Tours, and other major travel agencies nationwide.
Admission to the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park is free, but there is a fee for each area in the Ghibli Park.
