Toyama Smoky Highball HARRY CRANES Craft Highball (ALC.8%) Craft highball made by the only distillery in Hokuriku.

Saburomaru Distillery, the only whiskey distillery in Hokuriku, is located in Toyama. Toyama Smoky Highball", a craft highball from their own brand "HARRY CRANES" series.

HARRY CRANES Craft Highball was created in March 2019 as Japan's first highball can with a smoky focus.

On December 15, 2020, it will be launched as "Toyama Smoky Highball" with an 8% alcohol content to make it easier to drink and enjoy this authentic highball at home.

The Saburomaru Distillery is located on the grounds of the Wakatsuru Sake Brewery, which was founded in 1862.

The Saburomaru Distillery produces craft whiskey unique to Toyama, taking advantage of the rich natural blessings of the Tateyama mountain range with its 3,000-meter-high peaks and Toyama Bay.

The brewery believes that "good sake comes from good water," and uses groundwater from the limpid Shogawa River, polished by granite, for its brewing water. Whiskey barrels made from Toyama's Quercus mongolica var. mongolica and distillation equipment made with the traditional Toyama craftsmanship of Takaoka copperware have been developed. New flavors are created.

The whiskey at Saburomaru Distillery is a seasonal product. The distillery was originally established by Wakatsuru Shuzo to start distilling sake in addition to sake in order to overcome the rice shortage during and after the war, so sake is brewed in winter and whiskey is distilled in summer.

Blenders manage hundreds of barrels one by one, determining the degree of maturity and shipping at the best time. By producing small quantities using techniques unique to a sake distillery, we aim to produce world-class Japanese whiskey.

Researching yeast discovered in Toyama in collaboration with a university. Mixed fermentation of ale yeast (beer yeast) and whiskey yeast is used to bring out the fruity aroma.

Wakatsuru Brewery has been brewing sake in the winter and distilling whiskey in the summer.

Although annual production is therefore limited, the distillery has made its whisky using the old tradition of heavily peated malt.

The product contains zero sugar, zero flavoring, and zero coloring, and is made with only whiskey and soda.

The price is affordable, making it easy to enjoy an authentic highball at home.
