Airport trivia:Aircraft Noise
Aircraft Noise
Aircraft Noise
Aircraft noise comes from rotating parts such as fans, compressors, and turbines; from the engine itself, including jet exhaust and combustors; and from the aircraft as it moves through the air.
In Japan, the "Weighted Equivalent Average Sensory Noise Level" is used as a unit to measure the "loudness" of the noise.
This was devised in consideration of the fact that aircraft noise has a greater impact on the surrounding area at night than during the day.
This value is set at 70 or lower in residential areas and 75 or lower in other areas where normal life is preserved.
