"OMO 7" Osaka by Hoshino Resort opens in front of JR Shin-Imamiya Station with approximately 440 rooms and garden area
Hoshino Resort, which has been creating luxurious spaces, is expanding into Osaka for the first time.
Hoshino Resort will open "OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resort," its first lodging facility in Osaka, on the north side of Shin-Imamiya Station on the JR Loop Line on April 22, 2022 (Friday).
The hotel will be located adjacent to the Shinsekai area where Tsutenkaku Tower stands, and will be an urban tourist hotel with good rail access from the KANSAI International Airport. The hotel will have 14 floors above ground, a height of 66.85 meters, a total floor area of 36,922.06 square meters, and 436 guest rooms. Construction is scheduled to be completed in November 2021 and the hotel is scheduled to open in April 2022.
This land was originally the site of factories of a cosmetics company and a metal company. The Osaka city acquired the land in the 1950s as a park site. The number of children in the city skyrocketed in the 1960s and 1970s, and the city needed an alternative site for a junior high school to be built near the planned park site. However, the land was never developed as a park after the acquisition, and it remained without a specific use being determined.
To the south across Shin-Imamiya Station is the "Airin District", a district known for its day laborers. It is known as a town of so-called "day laborers" and is discussed as one of the deepest areas in central Osaka.
Then, in an open competition for developers by the city, the hotel construction plan proposed by Hoshino Resort was adopted.
From the proposed site, it will take about 5 minutes on foot to Tsutenkaku, one of the symbols of Osaka, and Shinsekai, a busy shopping district famous for kushikatsu, or a 20-minute walk to Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan at 300 meters, and Tenshiba, a grassy plaza in Tennoji Park. JR, Nankai Electric Railway, and subway stations are nearby, and it is only about 40 minutes by train from Kansai Airport and about 25 minutes from JR Shin-Osaka Station.
From Shin-Imamiya Station on the Nankai Line, which is attached to JR Shin-Imamiya Station, there is a direct connection to Kansai International Airport. If you transfer to the Koya Line on the way, you can also access the World Heritage Site of Koya-san.
In addition, in the spring of 2023, the Naniwa-suji Line, a new line connecting Kita-Umeda Station (tentative name) with JR Namba Station and Shin-Imamiya Station on the Nankai Main Line, is scheduled to open. This will provide convenient access to Shin-Osaka, Osaka Umeda, and Kansai International Airport.
Doubutsuen-MAE station, which is about a five-minute walk from Shin-Imamiya station, is a stop on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, one of the major arteries of Osaka. The station is directly connected to Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, Shin-Osaka, and other downtown areas and major terminal stations.
In addition, Doubutsuen-MAE station is also on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line, which connects to the Hankyu Kyoto Line, making it possible to reach Arashiyama and Gion Shijo in Kyoto.
Hoshino Resort, which has been creating luxury spaces, operates the "Hoshinoya" luxury hotel, the first of its kind in Osaka, the "Risonare" resort hotel, and the "KAI" brand of luxury hot spring inns.
All of its facilities offer sophisticated interior design, relaxing spaces, and comfortable hospitality, and it is now recognized as one of Japan's leading comprehensive resort management companies.
The Shinsekai area near Shin-Imamiya is a town that still retains the atmosphere and fun of old Osaka. Hoshino Resort considers this area to be a base for urban tourism, as it is close to Shinsekai, where Tsutenkaku and other attractions are located.
Hoshino Resort, which has been providing a wide range of luxury spaces, has opened a new hotel in the Shinsekai area, a town that still retains that "Osaka" feel. The new hotel will be called "OMO," one of the brands under its management, targeting mid-sized business hotel guests who are looking for urban tourism. It is positioned as the fourth brand following the above three brands, based on the concept of "an urban sightseeing hotel that raises the tension of travel, not just sleeping".
"OMO 7 Osaka by Hoshino Resort" will be the first new construction of the "OMO7" brand with services to enhance your stay.
"The theme of "OMO 7 Osaka by Hoshino Resort" is to "make travel in Osaka more fun and exciting," and visitors will be treated to the friendly service that only OMO can provide. The hotel is located in front of the station, which is used by many people, so the exterior of the hotel will be designed to be friendly without being stuffy, in the hope that it will become a landmark in the area.
The building will have 14 floors above ground and 436 guest rooms. At the same time as the hotel is being constructed, the surrounding environment will be upgraded, and a lush garden area will be created on a 14,000 square meter site adjacent to the Shin-Imamiya Station platform.
